Drake Bell Sentenced on Child Endangerment Charges
Former Nickelodeon star, Drake Bell, has been sentenced to two years’ probation after pleading guilty to child endangerment.
Back in June, the 35-year-old actor – best known for appearing in the television show “Drake and Josh” – was arrested after it was found that he had engaged in a sexually abusive relationship with a minor.
According to the victim, she first met the actor when she was 12. He then began sending her inappropriate messages and explicit photos, as well as forcing her to perform a sexual act on him, when she was 15.
During a virtual hearing on Monday, 12 July, the victim – now 19 – said of Bell: “He was calculating. He preyed on me and sexually abused me. He is a monster and a danger to children.”
Despite Bell’s apology, Judge Timothy McCormick of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, was firm with his judgement: “[Teenagers] don’t have the emotional or mental maturity to properly gauge their conduct. So you did take advantage.”
In addition to probation, Bell must perform 200 hours of community service in California. He is also prohibited from contacting the victim.
